Jack Meyer, CPA
Jack Meyer CPA MBA is a graduate of the University of Colorado in political science, Phi Beta Kappa, where he also earned his MBA. He moved to Missoula in 1977 and joined the practice of Keith Byington, CPA. This practice later became Boyle, Deveny & Meyer. Jack was born and raised in Denver and moved to Montana to take advantage of the splendor of Montana's great outdoors. He is currently serving on the Montana State Board of Public Accountants along with working on numerous community boards. Jack's practice focuses on income tax planning and preparation, new business consulting, mediation, and estate planning.
John T. Boyle, CPA
John T. Boyle CPA joined the firm in 1982 and has been a partner since 1984. John is a native of Butte, but grew up in Great Falls and graduated from UM in 1976 with a BS in finance. He worked in banking for several years before returning to UM to obtain an accounting degree in 1981. John has been active in various community endeavors, and currently serves on the Historical Research Associates board. John is a sporting enthusiast, and can often be found on a playing field or golf course. In between sports, his practice emphasizes tax preparation, litigation support, and estate planning.
Rena Hansen, CPA
Rena Hansen CPA joined the firm in 1991 and became a partner in 2002. She was born and raised near Darby, Montana. Rena started her tenure with the firm as the "tax season copy girl" and eventually completed her BS in accounting in 1997. Her practice focuses on business and individual tax preparation, small business setup and consulting, and financial statement preparation. Rena has been involved with HomeWord, Fort Courage Childcare, the Missoula Food Bank, Child Care Resources, Leadership Missoula and Play Ball Missoula. She enjoys skiing, fishing, hiking, Grizzly football and especially her her children, Connor and Hanna.
Marie Hebnes, CPA
Marie Hebnes CPA joined the firm in 1980 and became a partner in 2002. She was born in eastern Montana and raised in western Montana, and is now firmly rooted in Grizzly and Osprey territory. While working at BDM in various capacities, she studied at UM and graduated with her BS in accounting in 1989. Marie supervises financial compilations and reviews, oversees quality control for the firm, and concentrates on individual, business, and corporation income tax and retirement plan reporting. She currently serves as the treasurer of the Missoula Public Library Foundation and was previously a Library Board Trustee. In addition, she has been involved in Leadership Missoula and was a long-time director and continuing volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Missoula. Her spare time is spent with her husband, pets and family.
Christina Twohig, CPA
Christina Twohig CPA joined the firm in 2003 and became a partner of the firm in 2006. Born and raised in Missoula, she received her BS from the University of Montana in 2000 and her Masters of Accountancy in 2001. Before joining BDM, Christina worked in Oregon for Moss Adams LLP and in Missoula as a tax preparer and financial auditor. She has been the board treasurer of Blue Mountain Clinic, the secretary and vice president of the Missoula Chapter of the Montana Society of CPAs and board treasurer of the Loyola Foundation. At BDM her practice focuses on estate planning and trust and estate compliance, as well as business and personal income tax planning and preparation, and financial statement preparation and consulting. In her free time, Christina enjoys spending as much time as she can with her son and husband, traveling and hiking with her two German Shorthaired Pointers.
Jennifer Knoetgen, EA
Jennifer Knoetgen joined BDM in 1998 and became a partner of the firm in 2006. She is a graduate of Binghamton University in New York and is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor. Her practice includes a unique perspective on small business needs including taxation, human resources, technology, compliance and organization. Jen also manages the service department at BDM which provides payroll and bookkeeping services. Her practice includes business and individual tax return preparation and she is an Enrolled Agent eligible to practice before the IRS. She currently serves on the board of Montana Community Development Corporation. Jen spends as much time outside as possible with her horses and managing her small farm.
Karen Neel, CPA
Karen Neel CPA joined the firm in 1995. She was raised on Long Island, NY and in the Adirondack mountains. Karen received a BS in forest biology from SUNY Syracuse in 1978, and a Masters in Accountancy from UM in 1994. Between the two degrees, Karen worked on Forest Service seasonal field crews as well as desk jobs at St. Patrick Hospital and Food Services of America. She still gets outdoors as much as possible - biking, backpacking, kayaking, skiing and gardening. She has served many years on the boards of Watson Children's Shelter and Garden City Harvest. Karen's practice at BDM includes tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations and not-for-profit entities, as well as business and QuickBooks consulting.
Jaime Troiano, CPA
Jaime Troiano CPA joined the firm in 2006. She grew up in the Northeast and moved to Missoula in 1996. She received her BS and her Masters of Accountancy from the University of Montana. Before joining BDM, Jaime worked in Oregon for Deloitte & Touche, LLP and as an account manager in Missoula for Galusha, Higgins and Galusha. She has also served on the Boards of Blue Mountain Clinic, WORD, Inc. and the International Wildlife Film Festival and Media Center. At BDM, her practice includes business and personal income tax preparation, non-profit services, financial statement preparation and consulting. When she is not crunching numbers, she enjoys running, biking, hiking, skiing, and adventure travel. Her recent exploits include climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, cycling in Tuscany and learning to surf in Bali.
Mary Harris, CPA
Mary Harris CPA joined the firm in 2006. She was born and raised on a ranch near Valier, Montana. She received her BS in accounting from Montana State University in 1990 and has worked in public accounting since then. Her practice consists of individual and business income tax and financial statement preparation, consulting, and estate and trust compliance. She has been a certified QuickBooks Professional Advisor since 1999. Mary loves spending time with her husband and four children. She is currently a board member on a number of local not-for-profit organizations.
Patrick Boyle, CPA
Pat Boyle CPA joined the firm in 2007. After obtaining his Masters in Accountancy from the University of Montana, he went to work for a large accounting firm in Portland, OR. There he focused on auditing and accounting for medium to large corporations with industry expertise in Construction, Manufacturing, and Banking. At BDM, his practice includes preparation of business and personal income taxes, compiling financial statements, assistance with complex accounting transactions and consulting. He has served on the boards of the Missoula Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity of Missoula. When Pat is not busy with work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Molly and daughter, Nora, playing various sports and supporting the Griz.
Becky Holdorf, CPA
Becky Holdorf CPA joined the firm in 2007. She was raised in Missoula and received her BS and Master of Accountancy from the University of Montana. Before joining BDM, she worked in Missoula as a financial auditor and tax preparer and then she moved to Boise and worked as a controller for a hospital. Upon missing her Montana lifestyle, she returned to work as a financial auditor in Helena and eventually landed back in Missoula. At BDM, her practice includes personal, business and not-for profit tax preparation, financial compilations and reviews, and consulting. She has participated in the Leadership Missoula program through the Missoula Area Chamber of Commerce and has been involved with coaching YMCA youth soccer. The majority of her time is spent with her husband and two young children enjoying what Missoula has to offer, hiking the local trails, attending grizzly football games, skiing and golfing.
Jessica Yang, CPA
Jessica Yang, CPA joined the firm in 2008. She received her BS in Business Administration in 2006 and her Masters of Accountancy in 2008 from the University of Montana. Jessica also became a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor in 2010. In her spare time, she enjoys baking treats and spending time with her husband and young son.
Doug MacDonald, CPA
Doug MacDonald CPA joined the firm in 2009. He grew up in Missoula and he received a degree in accounting from the University of Montana in 1979. From 1983 through 2008, Doug was a partner at Rutherford, MacDonald & Olson, PC. At BDM, his practice includes business and personal tax services, along with financial statement preparation and consulting. Doug enjoys spending time with family and hiking in the woods with his wife and big dog, Kodiak. Outside of tax season, you can find him on the soccer fields either playing or coaching youth soccer.
Paul Murch, CPA
Paul Murch CPA joined the firm in 2009. Paul was born and raised in Harlowton, MT and received a degree in accounting from the University of Montana in 1979. At BDM, his practice includes business and personal tax services, along with financial statement preparation. Paul enjoys spending time with his wife and extended family pursuing outdoor activities including gardening, camping, fishing and hunting. In addition, he enjoys being in the "N-Zone' cheering on the Grizzlies in
the fall.
Colin Boyle
Colin Boyle started with BDM full time in 2010 although he has worked tax seasons since 2006. He was born and raised in Missoula, graduated from UM in 2009 with his BS in Accounting and again in 2010 with his Masters of Accountancy. He has yet to specialize in a specific area but has experience in individual and business taxation as well as payroll, audit and consulting services. Colin serves as the Sigma Phi Epsilon Alumni Treasurer and enjoys helping out many Missoula non-profits. In his free time he likes to golf, play handball and support his many favorite sports teams.
Conor Newman
Conor Newman started working as an intern during tax seasons since 2008 and became full time in 2011. He was born and raised in Missoula, graduated from the University of Montana with a BS in Accounting in 2010 and a Masters of Accountancy in 2011. Conor has experience with individual and business taxation as well as payroll. He is also pursuing IT related certifications. During his spare time Conor enjoys hiking, fishing, hunting, and snowboarding in the great Montana outdoors.
Mark Burke
Mark Burke CPA joined the firm in 2011. He grew up in Washington, Arizona and Texas, he moved to Missoula in 1991. He received a BS in Biology and a Masters of Accountancy from the University of Houston. Before joining BDM, Mark worked in Houston for Ernst & Young, LLP and was a shareholder in a local Missoula firm before starting his own firm in 2003. He has served on several not-for-profit boards in the Missoula area. At BDM, his practice includes tax and business consulting and preparation, focusing on small and closely held businesses and start-ups. Mark loves spending time with his wife and family, doing triathlons, running, biking, backpacking and reading great books with his church study group.
Nicole Stimac
Nicole Stimac joined the firm in 2011. Nicole was born in Bishop, California and moved with her family to Montana in 1973 where her family owned and operated Holland Lake Lodge. She graduated from the University of Montana in 1988 with a BS in Finance. After graduation, she moved to California and worked as an accountant for a civil engineering firm. She found her calling and moved back to Montana and completed her second BS in accounting in 1992. Before joining BDM, Nicole worked in Missoula for Mark D. Burke, CPA. Her practice focuses on business and individual tax preparation, small business setup and QuickBooks consulting. She has been a board member for several local not-for-profit organizations. Her spare time is spent with her husband and two daughters hiking, biking, skiing, running and Bikram (hot) yoga.
Dennean Marzolf
Dennean Marzolf joined the firm in 2004. Dennean has extensive experience in payroll and benefits administration. Her prior positions include full-charge bookkeeping for a large residential construction company and payroll processing for Missoula's largest school district. At BDM, Dennean performs payroll, bookkeeping and a variety of service work for our clients. A Montana native, Dennean and her family enjoy skiing, camping and Grizzly football.
Shannon Jacobs
Shannon Jacobs joined the firm in 2007. Shannon grew up in California and she and her family moved to Montana in 2004. She brings an extensive accounting background from the private industry having worked for several years for one of the nation's leading car rental companies. Shannon has a BS in Mathematics from CSU Fresno and some post graduate courses in Accounting. Shannon works in the service department at BDM providing payroll, bookkeeping and other services for our clients. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys gardening, shopping, boating, the great outdoors, and spending time with her husband, John and their son, Chase.
Marnie Ingraham
Marnie joined the firm in 2010. She was born and raised in Central
Montana and graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in
business administration. You will find Marnie in the service department.
She enjoys skiing, camping, being at the lake and spending time with her
family.
Jamie Cline
Jamie Cline joined the firm in 2002. She grew up in Geraldine, MT where her family owns a wheat and barley farm. She is a 2002 graduate of the University of Montana with a degree in political science and history. Jamie is an office assistant, payroll assistant and she organizes the firm's paperless filing system, and is BDM's Social Butterfly. In her free time Jamie enjoys spending time with her husband Casey, and their young daughters. They can be found cheering on the Griz and golfing.
Kathy Pritchard
Kathy Pritchard joined the firm in 2007. She was born and raised in Montana and received a communications degree from the University of Montana in 1977. Kathy moved to the Chicago area with her husband, Kevin, where they had three children. Missing Montana, the family moved back to Missoula in 1996. At BDM, you will find Kathy at the front reception area. She enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time at the family cabin on Flathead Lake.
Meagan Larsen
Meagan joined the firm in 2009. She was born and raised in Havre, and graduated from the University of Montana with a BS in Business Administration in 2004.
You will find Meagan helping with office administration. Meagan enjoys traveling, running, hiking, and skiing.
Annie Teeters
Annie joined the firm in 2011. She was born and raised in Priest River, Idaho and moved to Montana in 2000. Annie assists BDM with office administration. She enjoys camping, 4-wheeling and spending time with her family.
Tom Deveny, CPA (Retired)
Tom Deveny retired in April of 2008. Tom Deveny CPA earned a BS in accounting from the University of Montana in 1975, had a solo practice in Missoula during the mid-seventies, and merged his firm with the Byington firm in 1980. Tom is from Hysham, Montana. He is a supporter of many of Missoula's non-profits.
Nancy Harrington, CPA
Our dear friend and partner, Nancy Harrington CPA MBA, passed away tragically in a canoeing accident in January 2008. Her staff, clients and friends will miss her expertise, patience and kindness. She joined the firm in 1986. She grew up in California and graduated in history from Smith College, Massachusetts in 1967. After raising black sheep in Florence, MT, Nancy became a CPA in 1982 and received her MBA from the University of Montana in 1984. She worked with many non-profits and has served on the boards of Intermountain Planned Parenthood, Missoula Food Bank and Child Care Resources. We will never forget her.
